Killdisk taking only a few minutes to wipe drive

Hi, 
      I'm trying to wipe a 3TB drive with killdisk.
A success message saying it has been successfully wiped comes up after a few minutes.
This seems very wrong as normally it should take hours.
Am I doing something wrong?
